Compress a video for Gmail

Gmail allows 25 MB per email, but encoding makes attachments bigger on the way out. LimitFix shrinks your video to about 18 MB so it attaches as a real file.

Where are you sending it?

Compressed on your device. Your video isn't uploaded.

Why 25 MB isn't really 25 MB

Gmail's 25 MB limit applies to the encoded email. Attachments are encoded for sending, which makes them roughly a third larger, so a video needs to be about 18 MB or less to attach. Anything bigger is turned into a Google Drive link instead.

Attachment or Drive link?

A Drive link works, but the recipient needs access, the link can break and the video isn't in their inbox. An attached file just works — in any mail app, offline, forever.

Questions people ask

What's the Gmail attachment limit?

25 MB per email when sending (you can receive up to 50 MB). Because attachments are encoded for sending, a file needs to be roughly 18 MB or smaller to attach.

Can I send to Outlook or Yahoo users?

Yes, but their inbox has its own receiving limit. If you're not sure, use the email page, which aims for a size that fits virtually every provider.

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. LimitFix compresses the video inside your browser, on your own device, so the file isn't uploaded to us or anyone else. The only exception is the optional cloud processing for Pro users, which you have to choose explicitly; those files are deleted automatically after processing.
